Hoang Duong Cam was born in 1974 in Hanoi and completed his training at Hanoi Fine Arts University. He is now based in Ho Chi Minh City, where he co-founded XEM Collective focusing on conceptual photography publication. Duong Cam’s practices range widely in painting, installation, sculpture, photography, video art and artist book. The humorous, playful and intuitive motif is often used in his works as a methodology to explore more critical and intellectual concepts, from clashes of ideologies, cultural dissimilarities, invisible powers to figure idolization and personal identity.
